Vincenzo Salerno è un'artista trasversale.
Dagli studi accademici, partecipazioni a concorsi nazionali e internazionali e collaborazioni in ambito jazzistico (Macchina di Suoni, con la direzione di Marvi La Spina, Orchestra jazz Siciliana e Gaetano Riccobono Quintet), alla formazione di band dai generi e sound più disparati: il suo sassofono prende parte a progetti come Freddy Velas and the Silvertones (doo wop), Halfchicken (swing blues), Il suono di Bill (experimental jazz rock), Chester Gorilla (funk fusion). Tra le sue collaborazioni più importanti: David Kikoski, Orazio Maugeri, Stefano D'Anna e Marcello Pellitteri. Alle quattro incisioni discografiche si aggiunge adesso un brano inedito dalle sonorità jazz classiche, Berceause.
